Mission Statement :

The objective of the Network is to disseminate as widely as possible a large amount of "grey litterature", i.e. unpublished or scarcely distributed written documents. It tries as well to organise meetings, and to develop points of consultation in the region.

Brief Description of Activities :

The Network is an international and inter-universities program aiming at collecting and editing "grey literature" documents about recent events and about economic, social and politic prospective for the region.

Countries of interest :
Burundi, Rwanda and the regional context (Kenya, Ouganda, Tanzania and Democratic Republique of Congo - DRC)

Objectives :
To make the highest possible amount of documents available for leaders, academics, representants of the civil society and of NGO's in those countries, as well as in northern Universities and research centers.

Origin of the documents :
Reports and technical documents in relationship with the development ; public reports from international institutions and NGO's, from governments, political parties, confessional organisations ; letters, studies and reports from personalities and researchers ; communications from the civil society.

Diffusion :
Intenet database with search containing thousands of text pages.

Documents treatment :
The documents are either scanned or re-typed before being transfered in the CD-ROM.

Working languages (depending from the original documents) :
English, French, Kinyarwanda, Kirundi (including English & French abstracts for the documents in local languages).

Funding :
Swiss Agency for Cooperation and Development (SDC), Fonds francophone des inforoutes (FFI), Ministry of Cooperation (France), Regional Council of "Nord-Pas-de-Calais" (France).
