Description: This volume provides a thematic overview of the 150 presentations given at the 6th International Security Forum (ISF), held from 4 to 6 October 2004 in Montreux, Switzerland. All keynote speeches are reproduced in their full length. The editors also provide summaries of all additional speeches given in the various topic sessions and workshops. The conference speakers use a multilateral and interdisciplinary approach to focus on security issues in post-Cold War world, and cover a wide range of topics, including UN reform, EU and NATO enlargement, human security, international humanitarian law, the war on terror, the role of private military companies, and security sector governance.
